Hair Loss Treatment

Prevent and reverse the effects of Male Pattern Baldness with Propecia. Available on prescription from NationWide Pharmacies.

Online consultation process

While there are different forms of hair loss, the most prevalent by far is so-called Male Pattern Baldness – or MPB for short. While hair loss is entirely natural with age and affects most men by the age of 50, in some situations its effects can be felt much earlier. Indeed, some men even in their late teens and early twenties can start to lose their hair. Such an experience can be traumatic and unwelcome.

Propecia (Finasteride)

Propecia helps promote hair growth for men suffering from the onset of male pattern baldness. The active ingredient finasteride is a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor which works by reducing the levels of the hormone DHT (dihydrotestosterone) in the scalp and restoring a normal hair growth cycle. Clinical tests showed that two thirds of men that used the treatment saw a visible improvement in hair growth over a 2 year period and that 4 out 5 saw a decrease in hair loss.

The Problem with Hair Loss

It would be wrong to paint hair loss as a medical condition; it is, after all, a perfectly natural process. However while that may be so, there are still many men who would rather not be affected by it. Early onset male pattern baldness can be a source of insecurity for many men and may lead to feelings of depression or a general lack of virility. Furthermore, despite its ubiquity, baldness can also be a source of mockery and humiliation from others.

What Causes Hair Loss in Men?

Hair loss is typically a slow, progressive slide from a full head of hair to total baldness. Over time, as hairs naturally fall out, they are replaced by thinner and weaker hairs. Over time this can lead to an appearance of “thinning” on the scalp. As this process advances, the follicles may stop producing new hairs altogether so that as the older hairs are shed there are no more replacements being produced.

Whilst the reason for male baldness isn’t fully understood, scientists have found that some men’s follicles are far more sensitive to a hormone known as dihydrotestosterone (or DHT for short). The hair follicles themselves produce DHT, using the testosterone present in all post-pubescent men.

The follicles that are more sensitive to DHT consequently start to shrink, producing fewer, weaker hairs as a result. Over time this process of DHT-sensitivity can lead to male pattern baldness.

How to Cure Hair Loss

The bad news when it comes to baldness is simply that there is no way to reverse the process. Once follicles have begun to produce weaker hairs or have stopped producing them altogether there is little that can be done without surgery.

That said, it is possible to slow down the process using proven baldness cures. As a result of this, should you find yourself starting to be affected by male baldness it is highly recommended that you seek medication as soon as possible.

Doing so will ensure you are able to retain as much of your existing hair as possible. Delaying the commencement of treatment will simply mean even greater hair loss before the problem is brought under control.

Treatments for Baldness

While some men end up opting for wigs and other “cures” for baldness, there are only a few proven pharmaceutical treatments for baldness. Propecia is currently the leading treatment for male baldness currently available in Germany.

It works by reducing the scalp’s sensitivity to DHT, thus reducing the deleterious effect that DHT can have on your hair follicles. It is potent enough that Propecia is currently a prescription-only drug that must be prescribed by a doctor.

Fortunately our fully qualified medical professionals are on hand right now for free consultations. They will be able to assess your suitability for baldness treatment and, if deemed appropriate, we’ll be able to make you out a prescription online.

There is no need to meet a doctor face-to-face and in addition we will even post the treatment to your door under plain packaging so that you can try out Propecia for yourself.

How Long Does It Take To See Results?

Gentlemen affected by hair loss should be aware that baldness treatments like Propecia are not a quick fix solution. It can take time for the beneficial effects of the drug to build up and it is not uncommon for it to take some months before men notice a visible difference in the density and coverage of hair.

Furthermore, repeated and regular use is essential if you are to see the full benefit of the treatment. Most men who stop taking the drug find that their hair slowly returns back to its original condition within 3 to 6 months so continued use will be necessary.
